Crane Crashed into Cargo Hold

On February 19, a mobile crane reportedly broke free and crashed into the cargo hold of a vessel docked at the port.

What happened?

A 60 ton mobile crane reportedly broke free from a crane while it was carrying out cargo operations and fell into the tween deck of the cargo vessel ‘Hollandia’. The impact of the crane caused a significant damage to the cargo vessel.

Vessel damaged

Due to the impact of the collision, the hold of the cargo vessel was significantly damaged and the tween deck had been pierced.

The cargo vessel was docked at the Barcadera port near Oranjestad, Aruba Island for cargo operations.

Fortunately, none of the workers or crew members were injured during the incident.
