On Dec 7, a crew member of the “Jia Mao Shan” fell 100 feet and was injured while aboard a cargo ship carrying containers.

He broke his femur after the fall, and was rescued by Maryland Natural Resources Police officers.

Annapolis, Anne Arundel, Coast Guard and Maryland Natural Resources Police units helped rescue the 35-year-old man.

Two crew members aboard the ship were brought to shore and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were airlifted by a helicopter of the Maryland State Police to an area hospital for treatment. The officers were waiting in the unit block of Dock Street to help the crew member.
