  • Crowley appoints Jackie Gonsalez as vice president of advanced energy, leading LNG distribution and microgrid initiatives in high-growth markets.
  • Tucker Gilliam expands his role to oversee LNG bunkering, bulk distribution, and existing fleet operations.
  • The moves align with Crowley’s long-term strategy to expand LNG-powered transport, microgrids, and advanced energy solutions across the U.S. and the Americas.

Crowley has appointed Jackie Gonsalez as vice president of advanced energy within its Shipping business unit. In her new role, Gonsalez will spearhead strategic initiatives in liquefied natural gas (LNG) distribution and microgrid development, with a primary focus on Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and other high-growth regions. A seasoned leader at Crowley, she previously served as vice president of commercial operations for the Shipping business unit and as vice president for business development in the Crowley Logistics unit.

Expanded Role for Fleet Operations Leader

Tucker Gilliam, currently vice president of fleet operations, will take on additional responsibilities covering LNG bunkering and bulk distribution. He will manage the LNG bunker barge Progress, the largest of its kind in North America, as well as the U.S.-flagged LNG carrier American Energy, which serves Puerto Rico. These duties come in addition to his oversight of Crowley’s commercial and government deep-draft ship management operations.

Strategic Focus on Advanced Energy Growth

James C. Fowler, senior vice president and general manager of Crowley Shipping, emphasized that these leadership appointments reflect the company’s commitment to accelerating growth in advanced energy and LNG transportation. He noted that Gonsalez and Gilliam’s expertise will be pivotal in delivering innovative energy distribution and microgrid capabilities to customers and communities.

Expanding LNG-Related Operations

Crowley’s LNG initiatives extend beyond vessel operations. The company is expanding its LNG-related activities to include deployment of both U.S.- and foreign-flagged LNG-powered containerships, management of LNG truck-loading and ISO container delivery facilities, and development of LNG-powered microgrids in the Caribbean. These projects support Crowley’s vision of providing efficient, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions across the U.S., Caribbean, and Central America.
