On October 10, a cruise ship reportedly ran aground after the vessel broke away from its moorings due to a storm.

What happened?

The cruise ship ‘Nieuw Amsterdam’ loaded with tourists reportedly ran aground at Santa Cruz Huatulco, Mexico, off the Pacific coast.

The vessel broke away from its moorings after it was battered due to strong winds caused by a tropical storm.

Passengers safe:

All the passengers onboard the cruise ship were safe and were offered to be moved to hotels for the night until the vessel was undergoing repairs. 

After repairs and obtaining green signal from the concerned authorities, the vessel resumed its voyage to reach its destination.
