Daehan Shipbuilding has signed yet another contract for a Suezmax-class crude oil carrier with a shipping company in Oceania on September 30, following a similar order placed just one day earlier.

This marks two consecutive days of new orders and further underscores the company’s growing competitiveness in the global market.

Daehan Shipbuilding seizes global lead

In September alone, a total of 10 Suezmax crude oil carriers were ordered worldwide — and Daehan Shipbuilding successfully secured 8 of them within just ten days. This achievement highlights the company’s strong position in its core segment.

Industry experts attribute Daehan Shipbuilding’s success in the Suezmax sector to its proven technical quality, reliable on-time delivery, and advanced capabilities in eco-friendly shipbuilding that meet the latest environmental regulations. These strengths have translated into actual orders, as more global shipowners continue to choose Daehan Shipbuilding as a trusted partner.

The newly contracted vessel will also be built to comply with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) latest environmental standards and is scheduled for delivery in October 2027.

A Daehan Shipbuilding representative stated, “Securing eight vessels in such a short period within one month shows that both long-term and new clients recognize Daehan Shipbuilding as a leading shipyard for tanker construction. Based on this momentum, we will further strengthen our position in the global market and solidify our leadership in the mid-size tanker sector.”
