Tanker operator d’Amico International Shipping, through its subsidiary d’Amico Tankers, has sold two of its oldest vessels—Glenda Melody and Glenda Melissa—for a combined $36.3 million. Both 47,200-dwt MR product tankers, built in 2011 by Hyundai Mipo, are scheduled for delivery to unnamed buyers by July and December 21, 2025, respectively.

Cash Generation and Operational Efficiency

The transaction will yield approximately $31 million in cash, after commissions and repayment of outstanding bank debt. CEO Carlos di Mottola stated the move aligns with the company’s focus on maintaining a modern, eco-friendly fleet, particularly in light of evolving environmental regulations.

Fleet Profile Post-Sale

Post-sale, d’Amico’s fleet will consist of 32 double-hulled product tankers, including 29 owned and 3 bareboat-chartered vessels, with an average age of 9.5 years. The diversified fleet includes MR, Handysize, and LR1 vessels.
