DeepOcean Signs Charter Contract for High-Spec Subsea Vessel Orient Adventurer

DeepOcean, an ocean services provider, has secured a charter contract for the high-spec subsea vessel Orient Adventurer. Under the agreement with Dong Fang Offshore (DFO), the vessel will join DeepOcean’s fleet from early 2026 through to the end of 2027, with options for up to four additional years, reports Marine Link.

Expansion of Subsea Capabilities

The Orient Adventurer will complement the service offerings and subsea capabilities that DeepOcean will provide to offshore renewables and the conventional energy sector across various regions. The vessel will be spread across the world for a multitude of operations including: Offshore wind O&M, Installation, High-end IMR, Construction and recycling of offshore oil and gas infrastructure.

Track Record in Offshore Renewables and Energy Markets

The Orient Adventurer, formerly known as Polar Onyx, has previously been operating at an offshore renewal site, while currently, it’s working on a wind project off the shores of Southeast Asia. It has gained experience in conventionally based markets, with such regions as being operated in by the North Sea and Brazil.
Advanced Equipment and Capabilities

The Orient Adventurer has advance features installed, such as:

  1. 250tonne crane.
  2. Vertical lay system (VLS) capacity – 275 tons.
  3. Two remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) installed in hangars.

An underdeck carousel can also be provided for the underdeck carriage and installation of power cables to make the vessel even more versatile for offshore projects.
