Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in dry bulk vessels, has entered into a time charter contract with Bunge SA, Geneva, for one of its Ultramax dry bulk vessels, the m/v DSI Aquarius. The charter is set to commence on December 6, 2024, for a period of 10 to 12 months, with a gross charter rate of US$13,300 per day (after a 5% commission paid to third parties).
Details of the Vessel and Charter Agreement
- m/v DSI Aquarius is a 60,309 dwt Ultramax dry bulk vessel built in 2016.
- The anticipated gross revenue from this time charter is approximately US$3.99 million for the minimum scheduled period.
- Diana Shipping’s fleet currently includes 38 dry bulk vessels across various categories such as Newcastlemax, Capesize, Post-Panamax, and Ultramax.
Fleet Expansion Plans
- The company is set to take delivery of two methanol dual fuel new-building Kamsarmax vessels by 2027 and 2028, further diversifying and strengthening its fleet.
