Diana Shipping Inks Time Charter for M/V Astarte, Securing Estimated $4.68 Million Revenue

Diana Shipping Inc. (NYSE: DSX), a global shipping company specializing in dry bulk vessels, has announced a new time charter contract for one of its Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Astarte.

Charter Details

  • Vessel: m/v Astarte, an 81,513 dwt Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel built in 2013.
  • Charterer: Propel Shipping Pte. Ltd., a dry bulk ship operator based in Singapore with offices in Dubai, Greece, and India.
  • Gross Charter Rate: US$12,500 per day, minus a 5.00% commission paid to third parties.
  • Period: Minimum August 16, 2026, up to a maximum of October 16, 2026.
  • Commencement: Expected to commence on August 2, 2025.
  • Estimated Gross Revenue: Approximately US$4.68 million for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

Diana Shipping Inc. Fleet: Diana Shipping Inc.’s current fleet consists of 36 dry bulk vessels, including:

  • 4 Newcastlemax
  • 8 Capesize
  • 4 Post-Panamax
  • 6 Kamsarmax
  • 5 Panamax
  • 9 Ultramax

The company also has plans to expand its fleet with two new-building methanol dual-fuel Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels, expected for delivery by the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028, respectively. As of today, the combined carrying capacity of the company’s current fleet (excluding the two vessels not yet delivered) is approximately 4.1 million dwt, with a weighted average age of 11.68 years.
