ANAHEIM, Calif. –Disney Cruise Line has officially announced the name of its sixth ship just a few months after the debut of the Disney Wish.

Disney treasure

In 2024, the Disney Treasure will become a part of the Disney Cruise Line fleet and be a reflection of Walt Disney’s enduring fascination with travel. Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, gave fans a first peek during the D23 Expo presentation “A Boundless Future: Disney Parks, Experiences and Products.

D’Amaro said, “For our sixth ship, we’re dreaming up a brand new design concept that feels unlike anything Disney Cruise Line has ever done before. Its grand hall is inspired by the grander mystery of a gilded palace. It draws on real world influences from Asia, Africa, as well as the far-off land of Agrabah.

Grand hall features

A magnificent statue featuring Aladdin, Jasmin, and the Magic Carpet sailing together in an entirely different world of adventure can be found in the ship’s Grand Hall.

Disney Cruise Line is embarking on a journey to an undersea continent as fans eagerly await the arrival of the new ship. The Disney Wonder, a fleet’s ship, will start accepting passengers in Australia and New Zealand in October 2023.

The ship here is the destination on these voyages inviting guests from this region into stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars, and we’re so glad to bring something new that they never have experienced this type of Disney magic before,” D’Amaro explained. “Now, obviously I’m also excited to share that the Disney Wonder’s repositioning cruises will be our first South Pacific voyages – giving you the chance to experience destinations like Fiji and Samoa.”

Lighthouse Point

D’Amaro also shared that 90% of the energy used to operate the newest Disney Cruise Line destination at Lighthouse Point on Eleuthera in the Bahamas will emanate through solar energy.

In 2019, Disney unveiled the first details of the Disney Wish and its second Bahamas location, Lighthouse Point. Progress on the stunning new island, which will bring to life for Disney Cruise Line passengers the natural beauty and rich culture of the Bahamas, was reported by Disney leaders during Sunday’s presentation.

D’Amaro also added “We’re still in the early stages, but I can tell this is going to be a spectacular location for our Disney Cruise Line. We’re excited to create a place where you can learn about the stories and the traditions that are passed down by generations of Eleuthera residents. We know how much our guests love Castaway Cay, so we can’t wait for you all to put your toes in the sand on this new island destination.

Three new cruise ships of Disney Cruise Line, which began with the Disney Wish, are currently being built. Each of them exemplifies the all-encompassing family entertainment, intriguing storytelling, and exceptional service that only Disney can deliver.
