Disney is about to have something on board its newest vessel no other cruise liner will have: actual magic, reports Delish.
Disney Wish
On Sunday, Disney Parks Blog shared a sneak peak of Disney Cruise Line’s fifth ship “Disney Wish,” promising a “bright, airy, and elegant space” that will accommodate 1,250 guests. The luxe new boat, which will set sail in January 2022, promises a fairytale-inspired voyage fit for royalty.
According to the site, the vessel was “inspired by the beauty of an enchanted fairytale” and will include a Rapunzel illustration on the stern.
“Our favorite artsy princess, paintbrush in hand, uses her enchanted hair to suspend herself as she decorates the stern of the sehip with the help of her feisty sidekick, Pascale,” the site details.
“Spirited, smart, curious, and above all, adventurous, Rapunzel embodies the wish and desire to see and experience the world.”
Cruise to run on LNG
The Disney Wish will feature similar entertainment and travel experiences to the rest of its award-winning fleet.
All three of the cruise line’s latest ships are powered by liquefied natural gas and larger in size than both the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy.
They’re also venturing to new waters—Disney is currently in construction on its second tropical destination in the Bahamas, Lighthouse Point on the island of Eleuthera.
Conservation of Island
Joe Rohde, who helped design Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Aulani, says the brand is “directly involved” in the conservation of the island and Bahamian culture.
Construction will begin after the Government of The Bahamas and the public has approved Disney’s Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management Plan. Lighthouse Point is slated for a late 2022 or 2023 debut.
