The most magical and happiest places on Earth are ditching masks for fully vaccinated guests starting Thursday, reports CNN.
Walt Disney’s update for the vaccinated
According to an update posted to Walt Disney World’s website on Tuesday, face coverings will be optional for fully vaccinated guests in both outdoor and indoor locations starting Feb. 17.
Since August, masks have been optional for all Disney World guests in outdoor settings, but the Florida theme park required them at all indoor locations, regardless of vaccination status, due to updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
In addition to Walt Disney World, fully vaccinated guests who visit Universal Orlando are no longer required to wear masks. Both Disney and Universal do not require their guests to show proof of vaccination.
The Disneyland Resort in California will also drop the mask requirement for fully vaccinated guests, according to its website.
Norms for the unvaccinated
All unvaccinated Disneyland guests two years and older will be required to wear face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and queues. Face coverings are still required for all Disneyland guests, regardless of vaccination status, on shuttles and in health settings such as First Aid.
“We expect guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters,” Disney said.
Is the update valid for kids also?
All Disney World guests two years and older will still be required to wear face coverings on enclosed transportation, including buses, monorails and the skyliner. All face coverings, whether disposable or reusable, should be made with at least two layers of breathable material, fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin.
