Qingdao-based Headway Technology obtained SIL (Safety Integrity Level) certification for its OceanGuard marine LNG fuel gas supply system (FGSS) from DNV, reports Seatrade Maritime News.
OceanGuard Design Standards
The critical components of OceanGuard FGSS are designed and manufactured under SIL standards, which could provide safety protection for ships, crew and environment, an official from Headway Technology said.
FGSS Key Innovation
A key innovation of the FGSS is the gas recovery system for the high-pressure gas supply system to the engine, featuring automated monitoring of high-risk alarms.
Certifications from other Sources
OceanGuard FGSS, developed by Headway Technology, had been awarded AiP certificates from DNV, ABS, BV, RS, RINA and other classification societies worldwide.
