Groundbreaking Achievement at Gastech 2023

On the inaugural day of Gastech 2023 in Singapore, DNV’s global Business Director Gas Carriers & FSRU, Martin Cartwright, presented a significant Approval in Principle (AiP) certificate. This recognition marked a groundbreaking milestone in partnership with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Company Limited (Hudong-Zhonghua), unveiling an innovative design for a 271,000cbm LNG carrier.

The AiP represents Hudong-Zhonghua’s capability to construct the world’s largest LNG carrier, signifying a major leap in the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of LNG transportation. DNV’s AiP, based on rigorous classification rules and intended class notations, validates the vessel’s compliance with safety and environmental standards, setting a new benchmark in LNG transportation excellence.
