As of May 30, 2025, the Drewry Intra-Asia Container Index (IACI) remained unchanged at $655 per 40-foot container. This index, which reflects the weighted average of spot freight rates across the Intra-Asia region, shows stability in regional shipping costs over the past two weeks, according to the report published by Drewry Shipping Consultants. 

Intra-Asia Shipping Costs Show Limited Volatility

Drewry’s latest assessment of the Intra-Asia Container Index (IACI) for May 30, 2025, shows the index holding close to its previous level, with only a minimal $1 dip, bringing it to $655 per 40-foot container. Despite the overall steadiness, several trade routes within the index saw double-digit rate changes. Covering 18 major intra-Asia shipping lanes, the IACI remains 11% higher than it was a year ago. Drewry anticipates continued rate stability across the region in the coming weeks.
