Drunken Captain Puts the Ship Aground in the Port of Riga

An online newspaper 24-my.info reports an incident where drunken captain of Barbados put the ship aground in the port of Riga.

The captain of the ship Hadeland under the flag of Barbados and Antigua twice put the ship aground when leaving the port of Riga.

The incident is reported by UNN with reference to DELFI.

Investigation and Inspection

Latvian coast guard service received information about the incident on Saturday, August 3.

Investigation into the incident and inspection of the vessel revealed that the ship’s captain is drunk.

The Barbados captain twice put the boat aground. The first time he was able to move away from the shoal, but 20 minutes later the incident was repeated.

Protocol by the Coast guard

In response to the incident, the coast guard made the Protocol and the vessel was towed into the port of Riga.

As reported by UNN, two pilots were arrested in a state of alcoholic or narcotic intoxication in the UK.
