Fifth LNG carrier

On Wednesday, DSME noted the order is for a 174,000 cubic meters liquefied natural gas carrier. This is the fifth vessel Maran Gas ordered at the South Korean shipyard this year.

Geoje Okpo yard is supposed to deliver the vessel during the first half of 2022.

$2.69 billions worth orders

Five out of the six LNG carriers that DSME has booked, had been ordered by Maran Gas  this year. Additional orders are under discussion between the two companies.

The shipyard further added that it has orders for 15 vessels amounting to a total of $2.69 billions. The vessels include six LNG carriers, six very large crude carriers and three submarines.

The company commented that the orders booked have reached 32 percent of its annual target of $8.37 billion.
