DSME has planned to sell its Seoul Headquarters and has already received three bids for the tower block. Due to the offshore slump, the company has racked up billions of dollars of debts.
The sale could come in handy in helping the company to overcome this economically disadvantaged situation. The building that’s slated for sale is in the heart of the downtown area in the Korean capital.
Among other likely divestments from DSME will be Mangalia, Romania’s largest shipyard.
Including Hyundai Merchant Marine and STX many of the Korean maritime firms have offloaded their headquarters when difficult times have hit them.
