Eastern Pacific Shipping Orders 10 Boxships

Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding announced it has received an order for up to ten 2,900 teu containerships from Eastern Pacific Shipping, reports Seatrade Maritime News.

About the contract

The contract includes six firm vessels and four options. Designed by SDARI, the 2,900 teu containerships are in 189.55 metres length and 35.2 metres width.

It is the first time Eastern Pacific Shipping has ordered newbuildings at Mawei Shipbuilding and Eastern Pacific Shipping.

Feeder boxships are one of the major ship types constructed by Mawei Shipbuilding. Currently the shipyard has over 30 vessel orders on hand between 1,100 teu and 3,700 teu.
