98

EGA sends about 22 million tons of aluminium, bauxite and raw goods all around the world every year.
The Sea Shipping Agreement tries to cut down yearly air pollution from ship movements so that they have no net emissions by 2050.
EGA’s promise to have zero emissions by 2050 matches with its attention on how things are bought and sold.
The company works with boat transportation partner K Line to create new ways for ships to remove carbon on certain journeys.

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has set a new record by becoming the first aluminium maker and Mideast firm to join with Sea Cargo Charter. This plan makes a worldwide way to measure and share how ship chartering affects the weather. It matches with the aims of an organization called the International Maritime Organisation or IMO, aiming for zero greenhouse gas emissions in all world shipping by about 2050.

Decarbonisation Commitment

Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, the head of EGA company says they want to take care of nature. He states that joining the Sea Cargo Charter will help improve how things are done and make them aim for no harmful effects on our world from 2050 forward. Working with K-Line shows that EGA uses new, eco-friendly tech in shipping.

Global Maritime Responsibility

The Sea Cargo Charter helps to set a high standard for responsible shipping in the sea transportation business. It is also used as advice on how big ship renters and soon, leaders of boat groups choose their actions according to good ways that help protect nature. EGA’s involvement shows they are pledging to encourage and support the worldwide shipping business moving toward less carbon use.
