From July until the end of the year, Egypt’s Suez Canal has extended rebates on canal tolls for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, says an article published in Asharq Al-Awsat.
LPG tankers operating
According to the circular, LPG tankers travelling between the American Gulf and ports west of India, the Maldives Islands, and Kochi will enjoy a 20% discount on the canal’s customary fees.
According to Reuters, those operating from ports east of Kochi to Singapore will receive a 55 percent reimbursement, and those operating from Singapore ports east will receive a 75 percent rebate.
Receive a rebate
LNG tankers travelling between the American Gulf and the “Arabic Gulf,” as well as ports west of India and Kochi, will enjoy a 30% discount on the canal’s customary fees, according to a circular issued on Sunday.
Meanwhile, LNG tankers sailing from ports east of Kochi to Singapore would receive a 55 percent discount, and those sailing from Singapore ports east will receive a 70 percent rebate, according to the statement.
