E-pass linked to the passport
Foreign travellers on visit permits are now given electronic visit passes (e-Pass) instead of inked passport endorsements as part of the ICA’s attempts to deliver a more secure and seamless immigration clearance. Together with this change, ICA will begin issuing the foreign sea crew e-LP and e-SP electronic Passes (e-Passes) in place of inked endorsements for immigration clearance at Singapore checkpoints beginning on March 30, 2023. Foreign maritime crew no longer need to worry about their passports running out of empty pages thanks to the e-Passes because no written endorsements will be made on the passports.
International marine crew
Instead, when they have passed immigration, the international marine crew will receive e-Passes at the email address listed on their SG Arrival Card[1] (SGAC). The information on the Landing Pass/Special Pass issued, including the maximum number of days (s) of stay and the final day of stay permitted in Singapore, will be included in the e-passes. Using the ICA e-Pass Inquiry Portal, foreign sea personnel could access their e-Pass information, which could then be evaluated on the SGAC e-Service platform. Alternatively, they could scan the barcode to gain access to the Portal.
