The partnership aims to increase the presence of the wind-assisted cargo vessel E-Ship 1 on the charter market, leading to enhanced capacity utilization. This vessel, primarily used for transporting wind turbine components, regularly handles various non-ENERCON cargoes on its global voyages.

Key Features of E-Ship 1

  • Cargo Capacity: The vessel boasts 3,600 square meters of floor space below deck, spread across three decks (triple deck), making it versatile for various cargo types, including breakbulk.
  • Lifting Capacity: Equipped with two cranes (90 metric tons each), the E-Ship 1 can lift up to 180 metric tons of cargo.

Sustainability and Efficiency

According to Hendrik Peterburs, Vice President of Global Logistics at ENERCON, the focus is on achieving optimal capacity utilization. Commercial objectives drive this and align with ENERCON’s commitment to sustainability, a core value for the renewable energy company. By maximizing the vessel’s capacity, the company aims to improve the efficiency of its operations while reducing the environmental impact of transportation.

This cooperation underscores ENERCON’s dedication to sustainable logistics practices while enhancing the versatility and operational efficiency of its fleet.
