- The contract includes full system commissioning and comprehensive crew training, supporting EPS’s goal to improve digital transformation and sustainability across its fleet.
Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), a global leader in ship management, has signed a contract with Avikus, a subsidiary of HD Hyundai. Under the agreement, Avikus will install its HiNAS Control, SVM, and HiNAS Cloud systems on two EPS-managed vessels—a bulk carrier and a Suezmax tanker. The signing ceremony took place in Singapore and was attended by Mr. Sachin Saharawat, Technical Director of EPS, and Mr. Dohyeong Lim, CEO of Avikus, as stated in the report published by Eastern Pacific Shipping.
EPS to Install Updated Navigation and Monitoring Systems on Vessels
Under the new agreement, Avikus will install its HiNAS Control system, including both hardware and software, on two EPS-managed vessels. The project also includes HiNAS Cloud, a shore-side platform for advanced fleet monitoring and analytics. Full system commissioning and crew training—both onboard and online—are part of the contract.
This is Avikus’ first commercial retrofit deal outside Korea. The HiNAS Control system uses real-time data to support autonomous navigation and improve routing. This helps reduce fuel use and improve safety in varying sea conditions. HiNAS Cloud supports shore teams with tools for voyage planning and performance tracking.
So far, Avikus has installed its systems on over 350 vessels. The growing use of such technologies reflects the shipping industry’s focus on safety, efficiency, and meeting global environmental standards.
Partnership Focuses on Improving Efficiency and Sustainability
EPS expressed pride in leading the industry with advanced technologies that support safer, smarter, and more sustainable operations. The company noted that the partnership with Avikus will help speed up its digital efforts and improve fleet performance and environmental impact.
Avikus stated that working with EPS strengthens its position in maritime digitalization. The company emphasized that its technology offers real fuel savings and safety benefits. It also sees this agreement as a key step in growing its global retrofit business.
