New Order Placed for LR2 Tanker

Idan Ofer’s Eastern Pacific Shipping has added one LR2 tanker newbuild to its large orderbook.

The Singapore-based owner has contracted for a 114,000 dwt product carrier at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for delivery in 2026.

The deal with an undisclosed value for the scrubber-fitted new build adds to a pair of LR2s Shanghai Waigaoqiao is already building for EPS with delivery due next year.

Diverse and Extensive New building Programme

EPS has one of the largest new building programmes spread across multiple shipyards, involving more than 80 ships, from newcastlemax bulkers to very large ammonia carriers.

Alongside the orders at Shanghai Waigaoqiao, EPS has also invested in 111,000 dwt LNG dual-fuel LR2 tankers. These vessels are under construction at CSSC Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) and are expected to join the fleet in 2026 and 2027. Additionally, EPS has ordered 50,000 dwt MR units, most of which will be built by New Times Shipbuilding and Fujian Mawei in China.
