Repsol, has teamed up with Colombia’s Enagás and the Port of Cartagena Authority to carry out Europe’s first pipe-to-ship LNG bunkering operation, says an article published in Ship Technology.
Regasification plant
As part of the agreement, Repsol provided LNG fuel directly from Enagás’ regasification plant in Cartagena.
The process lasted around five hours and was carried out with the use of flexible cryogenic transfer hoses that connected the ship to the terminal directly.
Ship operation
Damia Desgagnés was the ship used for the operation, and it received a total of 370m3 of LNG during the procedure.
