Euroports, Europe’s largest port infrastructure operator, marked a significant milestone on October 1, 2025, by celebrating a new 25-year concession agreement with the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority (AdSP MAS) for Terminal Rinfuse Venezia (TRV) at Porto Marghera. This landmark deal reflects Euroports’ long-term commitment to strengthening Venice’s position as the Adriatic’s prime trade and logistics hub while promoting sustainable and efficient cargo operations.

Transforming TRV into a Premier Agricultural Gateway

The newly signed agreement aims to transform TRV into the Adriatic’s leading agricultural hub, powered by Euroports’ 25+ years of expertise in dry bulk logistics. The terminal’s capacity is set to increase to 3.56 million tons by 2050, supported by enhanced storage facilities, expanded silos, and upgraded multimodal rail infrastructure.

In line with Euroports’ sustainability vision, the project will contribute to a 40% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, thanks to a 30% shift from road to rail transport. Additionally, TRV will uphold high food safety standards through certifications like GMP+ and HACCP, reinforcing its reliability in agri-bulk handling.

Strengthening Regional Trade and Community Growth

According to Frederic Platini, CEO of Euroports, Venice and the Port of Marghera symbolize more than just infrastructure they represent a deep commitment to sustaining essential European commodity supply chains. Pablo Garcia, Managing Director for the Mediterranean Region, emphasized that this long-term partnership encourages infrastructure innovation, sustainable practices, and regional economic growth.

The collaboration with the Venice community and the Port Authority ensures that TRV will not only boost trade connectivity but also serve as a catalyst for local development and employment opportunities.

The celebration at Venice’s Heritage Tower marked more than a contractual milestone—it represented a shared vision for a sustainable, connected, and prosperous Adriatic trade future. With the new 25-year concession, Euroports reaffirms its commitment to innovation, community partnership, and environmental responsibility, cementing Terminal Rinfuse Venezia’s role as the Adriatic’s definitive logistics hub.
