Taiwan’s Evergreen Marine Corporation has signed contracts for 14 LNG dual-fuel containerships, each with a capacity of 14,000 TEU, in a deal estimated at around $2.8 billion. The order is split equally between China’s Guangzhou Shipyard International and South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries, with deliveries expected between 2028 and 2030, according to data from shipping brokers. 

Each vessel, priced at approximately $200 million, will feature dual-fuel technology capable of operating on LNG and conventional marine fuel, aligning with Evergreen’s long-term strategy to reduce emissions and enhance fleet efficiency. Guangzhou Shipyard International, a key subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and Samsung Heavy Industries, a major South Korean builder of commercial and offshore vessels, will jointly execute the project. The development underscores Evergreen’s continued investment in greener technologies and sustainable shipping practices, as reported by PortNews.
