Evergreen Marine has taken delivery of the 23,992 teu containership Ever Act, the second of the six A-class megamix container-ship series built by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) says an article on Marine monks.

Ever Act Delivered

Ever Act, the second of the six A-class megamix container-ship series of Evergreen Marine has been delivered by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI). The delivery of the 23,992 TEU new build comes after the Ever Ace, the world’s biggest container ship, which was delivered back in July 2021, reported Alphaliner.

Largest ships in service

All of the six A-class megamax container ships are set to be delivered by Samsung Heavy Industries between 2021 and 2022. These vessels are currently the largest ships in service, being about 28 TEU bigger than HMM’s Algerica series of box ships, which are a series of seven 23,964 TEU vessels, delivered back in 2020 by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME).

Features

The Ever Act is equipped with a deadweight tonnage capacity of 241,900 DWT, with a length and beam of 399.9 meters and 61.5 meters (24 rows) respectively. It is powered by an 11-cylinder WinGD diesel engine and has conventional propulsion equipped with an exhaust gas scrubber. The XD92B model engine enables the vessel to reach commercial speeds of up to 22.5 knots.
