  • Everllence reduced CO₂ emissions from its global production by 63% compared to 2018, exceeding its 2030 target ahead of schedule.
  • The company’s updated sustainability strategy is built on three pillars: Decarbonization, Nature, and People & Society.
  • Green technologies accounted for 15% of incoming orders in 2024, and initiatives like large-scale heat pumps and workplace wellness programs underscore Everllence’s comprehensive ESG efforts.

Everllence has released its 2024 sustainability report, showcasing substantial progress in its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. Most notably, the company achieved a 63% reduction in CO₂ emissions from its global production operations compared to 2018 levels—surpassing its 2030 emissions reduction target well ahead of schedule.

Revised Strategy with Three Pillars of Sustainability

At the center of the report is Everllence’s revised sustainability strategy, rooted in three core areas. “Decarbonization is our business” emphasizes solutions for cutting emissions in carbon-intensive sectors such as shipping, energy, and heavy industry. “Nature” reflects responsible resource management, emission cuts at production sites, and biodiversity protection. “People and Society” encompasses employee well-being, diversity, and broader social responsibility initiatives.

This realignment is based on a double materiality assessment, integrating both internal performance and external stakeholder perspectives to improve transparency and accountability.

CEO’s Commitment to Climate and Economic Transformation

CEO Dr. Uwe Lauber stated that Everllence is embedding sustainability into its broader business strategy under the guiding principle “Moving big things to zero.” He emphasized the company’s role in decarbonizing the global economy and highlighted sustainability and climate protection as pivotal drivers of transformation for German mechanical engineering and industry.

Driving Green Innovation and Scope 4 Tracking

In 2024, green technologies contributed to 15% of incoming orders, with ambitions to raise this figure to 50% of revenue by 2030. One major example is the commissioning of a large-scale heat pump in Esbjerg, Denmark, which replaces a coal-fired plant, supplies 25,000 homes with clean district heating, and cuts 120,000 tons of CO₂ annually.

Beyond Scope 1 and 2 emissions, Everllence is now tracking “Scope 4” emissions—reductions achieved by customers using its products. Dr. Johanna Rauchenberger emphasized this with examples such as LNG- and ammonia-powered ships, which significantly cut or eliminate CO₂ emissions.

Efficiency and Clean Energy Across Operations

The company reduced its overall greenhouse gas footprint by 13% in 2024 compared to the previous year, even as production levels remained stable. This was made possible by enhancing energy efficiency, shifting to carbon-neutral energy, and expanding solar generation capacity. These efforts resulted in a CO₂ reduction of 6,147 tons.

Challenges Ahead, But Momentum Remains Strong

Despite strong progress, challenges remain, including the availability of alternative fuels and managing growth sustainably. Dietmar Pinkernell, Head of Sustainability & Product Safety, reiterated the company’s determination to stay on track toward its 2030 targets.

Promoting Employee Well-being

Among Everllence’s standout social initiatives is “Frauengesundheit er#leben” (“experience women’s health”), which earned the 2024 Human Resources Excellence Award. The program supports female employees through educational workshops, lectures, and personalized health screenings, reflecting the company’s commitment to workplace wellness and gender-specific health awareness.
