In order to open up its LR2 pool and draw additional LR2 tankers, Greek technology and pool platform Signal Group has partnered with Norwegian LR2 owner and operator SKS Tankers, as reported by Riviera.
New arrangement
SKS’s five LR2 spot vessels, which are co-owned with funds managed by Hayfin Capital and launched as part of the new arrangement under the moniker SKS LR2 Pool – powered by Signal with the intention of luring in more tonnage.
SKS will handle the chartering, operations, and post-fixture work as the commercial manager, and Signal Group will supply the pool infrastructure, technology resources, and skills.
Under the cooperation, the SKS LR2 Pool will be able to increase its leading performance while growing the LR2 fleet. The Signal Aframax and MR Pools will continue to offer the same level of adaptability, fairness, and technological edge, according to the two firms.
Cutting-Edge Software
The SKS LR2 Pool is owned by Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Skipsrederi. Geir Mjelde, the company’s chief executive, stated, “SKS has long been a major competitor in the LR2 tanker category. For pool administration, Signal Maritime Services has created cutting-edge software. Together, we will provide owners and operators of LR2 tankers with a special service with unmatched performance and transparency.”
“We are thrilled to support SKS on their journey to become a leading pool in the LR2 tanker segment,” continued Panos Dimitracopoulos, chief executive of Signal Maritime Services. We look forward to our technological capital, which has been produced and tested over the years in our pools, being exported outside of Signal and assisting reputable, long-standing business operators.
