On November 23, a ferry with 181 passengers onboard crashed into a building after the captain lost control of the vessel due to overspeeding.
What happened?
A ‘Jetliner’ ferry with 181 passengers onboard the vessel were put at risk when a the ferry approached the shore at very high speed and crashed into a building.
The ferry was enroute from Raha to Kendari port in southeast Sulawesi island when the Captain lost control of the vessel and veered of course.
Building damaged:
Subsequently, the vessel crashed into the Syahbandaar Office Building and sustained damages. Fortunately, none of the passengers onboard the vessel were injured, the building was badly damaged and the ferry sustained considerable damages to its bow.
An investigation has been launched to determine the sequence of events leading to the crash.
