Fincantieri Secures New Order From Norwegian Cruise Line For Ultra-Luxury Regent Ship

5

Fincantieri has announced a new agreement with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) for the construction of an ultra-luxury cruise ship for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, strengthening a partnership that has spanned decades. The ship, set for delivery in 2033, will be a sister vessel to Seven Seas Prestige, the first of the new Prestige Class currently being built at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard.

Expanding the Prestige Class Fleet

The new ship will continue the legacy of the Prestige Class, known for luxury, spacious design, and innovation.

With a gross tonnage of 77,000 tons, length of 257 meters, and accommodation for 822 passengers, the ship will offer one of the highest guest-to-space ratios in the cruise industry. It will blend timeless elegance with cutting-edge environmental technologies, setting new standards for sustainable ultra-luxury cruising.

This addition follows the scheduled deliveries of the Seven Seas Prestige (2026) and a second vessel due in 2030, showing Regent’s steady expansion in the high-end cruise segment.

Strengthening a Trusted Partnership

The relationship between Fincantieri and NCLH is among the most enduring in the global cruise sector. Fincantieri has already delivered ten ships to NCLH’s brands and currently has thirteen more vessels on order, covering Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and Oceania Cruises.

Fincantieri CEO Pierroberto Folgiero emphasized that this contract reaffirms the company’s commitment to building innovative and sustainable vessels that align with luxury market demands. Similarly, Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer at NCLH, highlighted the order as part of a strategic expansion in the luxury segment, reflecting growing confidence in Regent’s world-class offerings.

This new order reinforces Fincantieri’s role as a global leader in shipbuilding and marks another milestone in its long-standing partnership with NCLH. As both companies look toward the future, their collaboration continues to blend craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability, ensuring that Regent Seven Seas Cruises remains at the forefront of luxury ocean travel.
