On August 30, a fire reportedly broke out in a truck onboard the ferry STENA SPIRIT near Gdynia Poland.
The ferry was en route from Karslkrona to Sweden when the incident happened.
The crew acted quickly and put out the fire in line with safety procedures. There were no injuries or danger to passengers aboard the vessel. The thick smoke resulting from the fire engulfed the vessel’s decks forcing passengers to move to upper decks on a precautionary basis.
Wednesday’s departures with Stena Spirit were canceled.
The ship is docked in Gdynia. Repairs have reportedly been completed and Stena Spirit may return back to service from Monday, September 5.
