On 24 January, a fire erupted on board a crane vessel at the Wagenborg Terminal in Eemshaven, Netherlands. It was said to have been started by the vessel’s onboard batteries, reports Safety4Sea.
Crew Evacuation and Response
The crew evacuated during the incident. In this incident, some of the crew members aided the fire brigade in putting out the fire. The fire brigade was successful in disconnecting and removing the affected batteries from the vessel.
By late afternoon, the fire had been brought into check, and the all-clear signal was declared.
