A fire broke out onboard Viking 7 – a 103 metre, construction / flexlay vessel when it was at Hatson Pier anchorage. The reason for the fire was reported to be a short circuit in the diesel generators. The fire spread quickly which was later extinguished by a Scottish coastguard tug boat. There were no casualties due to the fire onboard this 6,350 DWT vessel.
