According to the reports, an ethylene carrier which was under construction at the Sinopacific yard caught fire on Monday. Immediately, the local fire department dispatched ten fire trucks to the scene. Nearly after two hours, they managed to put off the fire.
The report says that the shipyard is assessing the damages in the 17,000 cu m ethylene carrier but no other information was revealed.
A prestigious company had ordered four ethylene carriers in October 2013 for which the deliveries were scheduled between October 2015 and May 2016.
