The first consignment of Liquefied Natural Gas has departed from the Dominion Energy Cove point LNG terminal, Maryland.
The construction project has been touted as the largest and has been billed at an approximate cost of $4 billion.
The fuel giant Shell NA LNG has provided the natural gas for liquefaction and is responsible for shipping the end product.
Contractual commissioning
When commissioning is complete, the facility will produce liquefied natural gas for ST Cove Point, the joint venture of Sumitomo Corporation and Tokyo Gas, as well as Gail Global (USA) LNG, the U.S. affiliate of GAIL (India) LTD under 20-year contracts.
