Collaboration with Sea1 Offshore

This development is part of a broader collaboration between Aurora Offshore, Sea1 Offshore, and Siem Oil Services Invest. Under this agreement, a total of 11 vessels, including nine additional ones, will transition to Aurora’s management. Sea1 Offshore rebranded from Siem Offshore in May 2024 as part of its restructuring efforts.

Enhancing Fleet Capabilities

Aurora Offshore expressed confidence in the quality and performance of the newly acquired vessels, emphasizing their potential to strengthen its anchor handling fleet and provide expanded solutions to its customers. Both vessels are currently engaged in the North Sea spot market and will soon be available for hire.

Specifications of the New Additions

Built in 2009, Siem Pearl features a VS491 CD design, while Siem Challenger is designed as a Havyard 842 model. These versatile and robust vessels are well-suited for a variety of offshore operations.

Future Prospects

The acquisition of these vessels follows the announcement in April 2024 of the sale of Siem Pearl and eight other vessels. Additionally, Sea1 Offshore recently placed an order with Cosco Shipping for two next-generation offshore energy support vessels (OESVs) that will be methanol-ready, signaling a commitment to sustainable and innovative solutions in the offshore energy sector.
