General cargo ship ELISE broke off her fore moorings and was rotated across river Arun at Littlehampton, West Sussex, UK, English Channel, in the afternoon Sep 18.
The ship was in ballast with her stern remaining stationary at berth and her portside anchor down.
River was blocked
She blocked the river such that even kayaks couldn’t pass her.
Refloated the same night
It was reported that she was refloated early in the morning Sep 19, after the tide changed. As of 0300 UTC Sep 19, she was already back at berth.
Damages reported
No major damages were reported. She arrived at Littlehampton from Antwerp on Sep 18.
