Oil leak reported abroad MSC KATYAYNI, says a report published in FleetMon.
What happened?
The container ship MSC KATYAYNI collided with a pier while maneuvering to berth at approximately 0800 LT on Nov 19 at Yilport, Diliskelesi, Turkey, Marmara sea. The ship’s hull was breached portside in fuel tank area above the waterline, with ensuing fuel leak.
Cleansing Operation
The ship was fenced by booms and the cleansing operation was launched after the leak was detected.
