Sea-Intelligence has released Issue 165 of its comprehensive Global Liner Performance (GLP) report, providing an in-depth analysis of schedule reliability figures up to and including April 2025.

Methodological Adjustment

In April 2025, global schedule reliability for container shipping saw a notable improvement, increasing by 1.7 percentage points month-on-month to reach 58.7%. This marks the highest level recorded since November 2023. Year-on-year, the April score was also significantly higher by 6.5 percentage points.

Among the top 13 carriers, Maersk led in schedule reliability for April 2025 with 73.4%, followed closely by Hapag-Lloyd at 72.3% and MSC at 60.7%.

The report also addressed a methodological adjustment for new alliances. Traditionally, alliance scores are based on arrivals in destination regions. However, due to the recent launch of new alliance services in February, for which destination arrival metrics were not yet fully available, a new measure based on “all arrivals” (including origin region calls on alliance services) was introduced for these new alliances. This “all arrivals” measure is comparable to the February 2025 score.

For comparison with the “old” alliances, a “Trade arrivals” measure was also used, which only includes destination calls. It is anticipated that these two measures will converge as the new alliances become fully rolled out and their services mature.
