Grounded Nuclear Waste Ship Refloated in Sweden

The Swedish waste carrier is now back in action after it ran aground off Barseback on Friday morning.

The Coast Guard said that the 1,600-dwt radioactive waste carrier, which was in ballast, got stuck around 0800 hours local time.  There were no dangerous cargo onboard the vessel, reports say.

A tug was dispatched to the scene which was able to free the vessel, by noon.  Also, divers confirmed that the vessel did not sustain damages nor there was a leak.  The investigation to know the cause of grounding is underway.
