On Dec 23, 2017, the “MSM Dolores“ ran into the embankment of the Kiel Canal.
The ship turned around in the fairway and got stuck with the stern on the other side.
The canal was blocked between the ferry pt. Landwehr and Schwarzenbek. The traffic control alerted the tugs “Bülk” and “Holtenau“ from Kiel which managed to pull out the ship in the evening. Later it was towed to Kiel where the water police started investigations.
Divers were called to survey hull, rudder and propeller. The ship reportedly left Kiel again on Dec 24. It was enroute from Lisbon to Bronk.
