GRSE To Build Four Multi-Purpose Vessels For German Shipping Company

Warship-maker Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE) announces that it has received a $54-million order for the construction and delivery of four additional multi-purpose vessels from Germany-based Carsten Rehder Schiffsmakler and Reederei GmbH & Co, reports CNBC.

The vessels will be designed, built, and delivered over 33 months from the original contract signing date. The deal does not involve any related party transactions.

Back in June 2024, Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers signed an agreement with Carsten Rehder Schiffsmakler and Reederei GmbH & Co to construct and deliver four multi-purpose cargo vessels. The contract is worth approximately $54 million and the order is to be executed in 33 months.

GRSE signed the agreement with shipping company Carsten Rehder Schiffsmakler und Reederei GmbH and Co. KG, Germany, for the construction and delivery of four multi-purpose vessels with an option of building another four ships soon.

Vessel Design

The vessels will be 120 meters long and 17 meters wide and can carry 7,500 tonnes of cargo each. Each vessel will have a single cargo hold to accommodate bulk, general, and project cargoes, with the provision for carrying containers on hatch covers. Also, the ships have been specifically designed to carry multiple large windmill blades on deck.
