Guangzhou Shipyard International, China Shipbuilding Trading, and CMB Financial Leasing signed the project of two 16000TEU container ships, says an article published in Xinde Marine News.
About the project
This project is the first batch of 6 16000TEU super vessels undertaken by Guangzhou Shipyard International on March 31. After the order for the large container ship, two additional orders for the same type of ship were obtained.
At present, the number of container ships in hand by GSI has reached 8, and batch orders have created good conditions for GSI to explore the container field.
Vessel description
The first container ship undertaken by GSI was designed to have a total length of about 366 meters and a width of 51 meters. It can carry more than 16,000 standard containers. It is the largest container ship built in South China.
Eco-friendly container ships
This type of ship is equipped with a scrubber and reserved LNG power function. It adopts a new concept of environmental protection and carbon reduction design and meets the latest environmental protection emission standards. It is a green, environmentally friendly, high-efficiency, and energy-saving large container ship.
