GTT Signs Technical Assistance and License Agreement with Hengli Shipbuilding

GTT reports that it has entered into a Technical Assistance and License Agreement with Hengli Shipbuilding (Dalian), one of the largest shipyards in the Hengli Group, a diversified Chinese conglomerate that operates globally in petrochemicals, energy, and advanced manufacturing. The agreement was signed at Dalian in a ceremony that marks a new chapter in the presence of GTT in China.

Deployment of Advanced Membrane Containment Systems

The deal enables Hengli to utilize GTT’s state-of-the-art membrane containment systems for the building of different types of vessels, such as LNG Carriers (LNGCs), Very Large Ethane Carriers (VLECs), Ultra Large Ethane Carriers (ULECs), multi-fuel vessels, and bunkering vessels. This collaboration is intended to increase the adoption of GTT’s advanced technologies in China.

Stringent Licensing Qualification Process

Hengli obtained its GTT license following a thorough qualification process initiated in 2024. This process included the completion of study cases and the successful construction of a Mark III technology mock-up, demonstrating Hengli’s technical capabilities and commitment to high standards.
