Hanwha Ocean Chooses TMC Compressors For LNG Carriers

Hanwha Ocean, formerly known as Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, selects TMC Compressors to supply compressed air systems for six LNG carriers being built for Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL).

TMC will provide control, service air, and nitrogen-feed air compressors for each vessel, with the contract value undisclosed, reports TMC.

Vessel Specifications

Each LNG carrier will have a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters of LNG.

Supplier’s Perspective

Hans Petter Tanum, TMC’s director of sales and business development, expresses delight in securing the contract, highlighting TMC’s familiarity with the vessel type and shipbuilder.

TMC will manufacture the equipment in Europe and ship it to Hanwha Ocean in South Korea.
