Hapag-Lloyd Orders MacGregor’s Fully Automatic “Hippo” Twistlocks For A19-Series Ships

MacGregor has received an order from Hapag-Lloyd for its fully automatic twistlocks (ACV-1), known as “Hippo”, to enhance container handling efficiency and operational safety. These twistlocks will be installed on six A19-series vessels with a capacity of 19,900 TEU each.

  • Vessels Covered: Al Nefud, Al Dahna Express, Barzan, Al Muraykh, Al Zubara, Tihama

  • Order Timing: Booked in Q1 2025

  • Delivery Window: Begins Q2 2025, to be completed by Q4 2026
