HD Hyundai Mipo has achieved another major milestone by winning shipbuilding orders worth 219.4 billion won for petrochemical product carriers (PC ships). The deal, signed with a shipping company based in the Oceania region, strengthens the company’s growing portfolio and contributes significantly to the yearly order achievements of its parent group, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE).
Major Contract for PC Ships Strengthens Global Presence
HD Hyundai Mipo confirmed on November 17 that it finalized a shipbuilding contract valued at 219.4 billion won. Under the agreement, the company will construct petrochemical product carriers and deliver them sequentially by the end of February 2029.
This contract not only reinforces Hyundai Mipo’s presence in the Oceania market but also adds momentum to its expanding portfolio of high-value vessels. The long-term delivery schedule highlights strong demand and stable orderbook visibility for the company.
HD KSOE’s Annual Order Performance Approaches Target
The newly secured order contributes to the broader performance of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the parent company of HD Hyundai Mipo.
With this contract included, HD KSOE has secured 102 vessels worth $13.74 billion in 2025, achieving 76.1% of its annual order target of $18.05 billion.
